Short story writing

Your task is:

1) Create a short story using the words in the picture.


2) Comment on how you could use this task in our teaching context.

  1. There is lot you can do teaching students English as you have a lot of resources to help you be it computer, games, drama and songs

  2. It's a good way of presenting new topic. Students look at the wordle and try to guess the main, key words. The second idea is to use it for teaching active vocabulary from the text or to find the most frequent words.

  7. Using a smartboard is a drama for old teachers. They play their role during the English lesson perfectly well but have no computer skills...

    It is a useful task for developing their imagination.

  10. I use it for a lead-in before listening or reading as a prediction activity; it's also good for making fun of matching e.g. colocations ;i also play a memory game with it , try to remember as many words as possible in 1 minute and write them down

  12. I'd use this particular task for process writing classes -- learners can collaborate in writing and rewriting the short story and agree on an end product together.

  13. It's a lovely task for practising story writing, collocations and set up phrases, it can be also used while practising certain vocabulary, developing imagination.
